Winter Conference at Skeikampen in Norway
Last weekend it was time for Combine Control Systems winter conference at Skeikampen in Norway. Being a consultant company with both on-site assignments at customers and in-house projects, it is important to gather all employees for company information and socialization. The weather was perfect when we arrived, -21 degrees Celsius! The conference part was split in three parts where our CEO Erik Silfverberg gave an update on the numbers for 2017, but more importantly where we are going in the future.
The second part of the conference was led by Mathias Broxvall. Mathias is an expert within the fields of machine learning, deep learning and image analysis. He gave a quick training in how to use Sympathy for Data for image analysis. For more information regarding Sympathy visit the homepage, www.sympathyfordata.com
The final part of the conference was a nice transition into the evening activities. Ingemar Jansson, one of the engineers at Combine, is also the co-founder of a local micro-brewery in Gothenburg called Sad Robot Brewing, www.sadrobot.se. Ingemar gave an inspiring lecture in the art of making the perfect beer. Combine and Sad Robot is also collaborating with a master thesis to improve the controllability of certain parts of the manufacturing process. Anyone interested to help with the testing? :)
The second day of the winter conference was dedicated to team building in the crisp Norwegian winter, in the slopes or cross-country ski tracks. Big thanks to Thon Skeikampen Resort for wonderful food, SPA and service.
